While Ford Performance is busy fully introducing the Shelby GT350/GT350R pair, tuners also have their hands full working on kits for the 2015 Mustang GT. The latest such example delivers a hefty 711 ponies and comes from a company called Late Model Restoration.
The crew took a manual Mustang 5.0, strapped it to the dyno and achieved 375 hp and 358 lb-ft of twist. Then they got to work, installing a twin turbo kit, along with the supporting mods.
As a result, this Mustang now delivers 711 HP and 625 lb-ft of twist. For those who are curious how the 336 HP and 267 lb-ft upgrade was achieved, here is the complete list of mods received by the Blue Oval model.
• Hellion Power Systems Twin Turbo Kit
• Precision Turbo 55mm Turbos
• Precision Turbo Wastegates
• Turbosmart Blow Off Valves
• ID 1000 Fuel Injectors
• JMS Fuelmax Boost-a-Pump
• Bassani 3" Exhaust Kit
• Custom Tune
Thanks to the Bassani exhaust, the forced-fed pony now sounds just as aggressive as it should, with the BOVs also adding to the soundtrack. In fact, the aural side of the experience is one of the best treats offered by the clip below, which shows the TT Mustang having its way with a dyno.
However, the aftermarket developer explains they could’ve achieved a higher gain, but wanted to keep things streetable. They go on to tell us that the project has plenty of extra work to receive, so we expect to hear more about this Mustang in the future.
