The second generation of the Mercedes-Benz GLK is about a year away from reaching dealerships all around the world and Stuttgart engineers are currently hard at work testing various pre-production prototypes of the future model all over the world.
The following car was spotted in Lapland, doing the obligatory cold testing for this time of year, and is still sporting a heavy amount of body cladding in order to conceal most for its exterior lines.
Still, so far it seems that the GLK X205 will receive a much less brick-like design and something more in line with the new Mercedes-Benz design language.
If we were to guess the new model will look like a more grown-up GLA, while the interior will be quasi-identical to the one from the recently-unveiled C-Class W205 – which makes sense considering they share the same MRA (Modular Rear Architecture) platform and will even be built in the same plants.
