The old Hyundai i20 used to look like a Korean box on wheels. But under the influence of the same designer who made the first Audi TT, the i20 has blossomed into a pretty little supermini with more character than most of its German rivals.
The 2015 model that just went on sale is sexy from every angle, with long wraparound headlights that have a strong LED brow, posh alloy wheels and taillight cluster that have a distinct Audi feel to them.
To showcase the inner beauty of the car and really open people's eyes to the car, Hyundai enlisted the help of JPS, who is a a British street artist. Unlike most people who do graffiti, he isn't into large letters that are hard to read, more interested in expressing himself though meticulously planned stencils.
His story is just as inspiring as the art he created for Hyundai and we strongly recommend watching both videos we've added below. Hyundai has even been smart with its song selection – Hard Equation by Nina Pallot, a rising artist.
As for actually buying the i20, the model is available in Britain starting this week and is priced slightly lower than a VW Polo. On most small cars, you have limited close of trim, usually black or beige. Not so with the i20, which can be color-coordinated in things like brown or gray/silver. And they haven't done it in a Renault Clio plasticy kind of way either. And the icing on the cake is that it's also practical, with space for 3 people in the back and a boot that's larger than on some older Ford Focus models.
Tony Whitehorn, President & CEO, Hyundai Motor UK said: “New Generation i20 is a true competitor in Britain’s most popular vehicle segment. It ticks all the right boxes for fleets and businesses, as well as catering to the needs and tastes of discerning retail customers. The quality, features and specification of this car speak for itself, and we are delighted that this has been demonstrated in the form of strong residual value predictions which are among the best in class.”
