Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance had a go at modifying the latest generation Escalade. With a starting price tag of $15,900 (€11,486 at current rates), the HPE550 package will get you a power bump of 137 horsepower and 86 lb-ft of torque.
Specially designed for the 2015 Cadillac Escalade luxury SUV, the HPE500 kit's main feature is the high flow belt-driven supercharger system producing 6 psi of boost pressure. With the help of a remapped ECU unit, a high flow air-to-water intercooler and better quality gaskets and fluids, the 6.2-liter V8 mill will churn out 557 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 542 lb-ft (735 Nm) of torque at 4,200 rpm.
“Our HPE550 Supercharged Escalade is the perfect balance of attitude, performance and luxury. It’s fast and versatile, and proudly American,” said Hennessey CEO and partner Don Goldman.
Hennessey Performance offers a whopping 3-year or 36,000-mile powertrain warranty for the HPE550 Escalade. That says a lot about how much the Texas-based company trusts the quality and reliability of the parts included in this package. For an extra $6,950 (€5,020), the luxury SUV can be fitted with 20-inch Hennessey H10 forged monoblock wheels, compatible with the Escalade's factory tires.
Standard equipment also includes Hennessey exterior badging, serial-numbered dash and engine plaques, as well as embroidered floor mats. Taking aim at the Mercedes GL63 AMG and the Range Rover Sport Supercharged, the HPE550 Cadillac Escalade is the cheapest and most powerful of the three, with a maximum price tag (including the car) of $114,470 (€82,682).
“The new 2015 Cadillac Escalade is the perfect platform for a Hennessey infusion of horsepower,” said founder and president John Hennessey. “It’s luxurious, spacious and cries out for personalization and more performance. I plan on making this our next family hauler for our five teenagers and four Labrador Retrievers.”
