Despite having no official confirmation, a preview of the OnStar app has a category clearly dubbed ‘SS Perfomance’, listed under the year 2014.
Throughout their history, Chevy has had many different cars bearing the SS badge, however they didn’t file anything with the US Patent Office until recently. Them having gone to the trouble of patenting the badge is a clear indicator that they plan to use it officially in the future.
The Holden Commodore has already been rebadged as a Caprice and it is the most likely recipient of the SS badge. Chevrolet’s move may be a clear indication of them planning on releasing a new performance car soon, however we cannot say with certainty when this will happen and what sort of car they’re planning to make.
