It's official: Avintia Blusens and Frenchman Mike Di Meglio have reached and agreement, so Di Meglio is the new team mate of Spaniard Hector Barbera.
Di Meglio, born 1988, is no stranger to podiums and winning, as he is the 2008 World Champion in the 125cc class. He is also recovering from an injury in the second half of the 2013 Moto2 season.
Avintia Blusens will have Di Meglio riding and FTR-Kawasaki machine, to which he's no stranger, either, after having thrown a leg over it in the post-season tests at Valencia.
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to make my debut in the MotoGP class, and I want to thank Avintia Racing. I tried the bike in a test at Brno last year, and when I got back on the FTR in Valencia I could see that the bike had undergone a major evolution.
This makes me very optimistic about what we can achieve this season. I still have a lot of work to do both with my riding style and the bike, but I know I’ll have major support behind me and a very professional team," Di Meglio told motogp.com
