A Chinese website spilled a whole bunch of photos of the brand new IS sedan ahead of its supposed official debut at the Detroit Auto Show. Lexus wasn’t prepared for this, but as the saying goes: there’s no use crying over spilled press photos.
Following the leak, the official photos showing the all-new Lexus IS sport sedan have been made available, though official details have been kept secret until January 15th.
However, we do know from Jay Leno’s test drive of the car that it’s 70 mm longer than the old IS and that it’s been fitted with an eight-speed auto. The US market version will offer the choice between a base 2.5-liter with about 210 hp and a 3.5-liter V6 with 306 hp, just like the GS 350.
“At Lexus, we strive for partnerships that bring the most advanced connected vehicle technologies to our customers at a great value,” said Sandy Lobenstein, vice president, Connected Vehicle Technology and Planning. “As a result of our partnership with iBiquity, our owners will be the first in the industry to have access to subscription-free real-time traffic and weather data on multimedia systems across our vehicle lineup.”
