Chrysler has announced that the 2014 Jeep Cherokee’s media introduction has been delayed by a month in order to make last-minutes changes to the vehicle’s powertrain.
The company added that the 2014 Cherokee will become available to the media “as soon as the process is complete”, adding that the crossover will arrive in showrooms in September as planned.
"Over the last couple of weeks during final quality and durability testing, we have discovered the opportunity to further improve powertrain calibration. We will introduce the vehicle to media and consumers as soon as the process is complete”, Jeep told Automotive News.
The new Cherokee was initially scheduled for a media launch in Seattle between August 8 and 14 when motoring journalists would have driven the vehicle for the first time.
Production of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee commenced in late June, a month later than planned. The crossover is being built at the company’s Toledo assembly plant.
