The 2014 CTX700 is one of Honda's all-new bike series for the road/ touring segment and takes the blending between motorcycle classes one step further. We saw a reminiscence of the older NTV bikes, but all in an updated design and by all means, a pleasant way to re-interpret the bikes o old.
Targeting the riders who are always looking for a bike nimble enough to tour on but without any compromises as far as comfort in concerned, the 2014 Honda CTX700 boasts the same 670cc parallel-twin power unit to be found in the NC700 models. A plethora of comfort-oriented options can transform the CTX700 into a fully-loaded tourer: from the automatic DCT transmission and ABS, to touring accessories such as backrests, side cases and all.
The CTX700 is however, a street machine: there is no trace of off-road heritage in this motorcycle, so if you're a city guy who likes to leave the asphalt strip behind once in a while, there might be other models out there for you.
On the other hand if you're looking for a bike to blend in the convenience and laid-back position of a road-tourer with the swiftness of a city bike, the 2014 Honda CTX700 may very well fit the bill perfectly. Honda claims the CTX700 will be available in Spring 2013, with prices starting at $7,799 (€5,835) and $1,000 (€750) more for ABS and automatic transmission.
