Ferrari’s new 458-based racer, the 2014 Challenge Evoluzione, was unveiled yesterday in front of its future customers at the Mugello track. Unfortunately, the Italian automaker released only one photo of the track-prepped sportscar, but hopefully more will follow soon.
Developed to compete in the 2014 Ferrari Challenge series, the 458 Challenge Evoluzione “makes full use of the experience gathered in GT racing” and features a newly-designed rear wing, a new front splitter, and race-tuned suspension.
Ferrari had nothing to say about the race car’s powertrain, but it should be powered by an updated version of the 4.5-liter V8 engine that delivers 570 horsepower. We’ll be back with more details as soon as Ferrari spills the beans.
