The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with the six-speed automatic gearbox returns 28 miles per gallon on the highway and 16 miles per gallon in the city, according to official EPA estimates.
This makes the automatic 2014 Corvette Stingray slightly less fuel efficient when compared to the manual version, which was rated at 29 miles per gallon on the highway and 17 miles per gallon in the city earlier this year.
Both figures show significant improvements over the previous-generation Corvette, that was offered with EPA estimates of 26 mpg highway / 16 mpg city and 25 mpg highway / 15 mpg city for the manual and automatic respectively.
Chevrolet commenced deliveries of the 2014 Corvette Stingray last month, when the first Coupe model, which was auctioned off for $1.1 million, was received by its owner - NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe starts at $51,995 including destination and handling fees.
