Unveiled during the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is not expected to hit dealerships until late August. Thus most of the official specs aren’t available yet and all eyes are set towards Bowling Green, Kentucky, for any new info that might surface about America’s most revered sportscar.
Not surprising, the car’s preliminary order guide made its way on the web ahead of time, thanks to CorvetteBlogger, and while some specifications are still “GM-estimated”, there’s a lot of other stuff we can gather from this sheet.
For example, the Z51 Performance Package will include the Magnetic Selective Ride Control, that comes with Performance Traction Management, as well as other Z51 exclusive features, such as black-painted calipers, dry sump oil system, performance suspension, 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, performance ratio, electronic limited slip differential and rear differential cooler.
Besides the 10 exterior colors, three of which are premium tintcoats that require additional charge, Chevrolet offers five interior colors, including Gray, Jet Black, Kalahari, Brownstone and Adrenaline Red. However, the latter won’t be available for the Lime Rock Green Metallic, Velocity Yellow Tintcoat and the Night Race Blue Metallic body paintjobs.
As we mentioned earlier, performance figures are still GM-estimated. The standard Corvette is said to output about 450 HP, while 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) is rated at “under 4 seconds”. Curb weight and cargo volume are yet to be announced for both the standard and the Z51 Performance Package Corvettes.
