General Motors is recalling its all-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks over passenger airbags that may not function properly.
According to the Detroit-based company, 919 crew cab Silverados and Sierras need to be checked for passenger airbags that might not fully inflate in the event of a crash. No crashed or injuries related to this issue are known, and GM says that less than one percent of the vehicles may have this condition.
"Very few vehicles have been sold to customers, and GM is calling each of them to arrange for repairs," GM spokesman Alan Adler said. "There are no known crashes or injuries related to this issue."
843 of the affected Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks are in the United States, 68 vehicles were sold in Canada, while 8 of them are located in Mexico.
