Mitsubishi has revealed the Outlander Sport for the 2013 model year ahead of its debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show later today. The big news is that there is no big new, but starting with this lightly refreshed version of the compact SUV, production will take place in the US.
Starting in July, Mitsubishi will build Outlander Sports at their manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois. These will also be exported, though it has not been made clear how far into the world there units will venture.
The changes for the 2013 are very subtle: redesigned foglights, changes to the lower bumper, different grille (slightly) and a set of 18-inch eight-spoke ally wheels. Two new paint finishes have also been added, namely White Pearl and Quick Silver.
But there are technical changes as well, as Mitsubishi engineers have developed a revised rear multi-link suspension to improved handling and ride comfort. The CVT has been tweaked for acceleration and smoother shifts.
