Hyundai has already put an official sticker price on the Veloster Turbo, which in the US will be priced from $22,725 including destination for the 1.6-liter GDI engined model equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission.
We’ve already noticed the car being tested by the Korean media in its domestic market, and now Autonews.com reports that the US launch is going to take place this month. Hyundai says it’s selling every Veloster it can get into the US, according to a statement made by CEO John Krafcik at a press briefing in Los Angeles. However, the allocation of the car of the United States will not be increased due to the arrival of the Turbo.
Despite costing as much as some pony cars, the Veloster Turbo is sure to sell well, due to its brand new engine which has not been used in any other Hyundai before it. It’s a 1.6-liter GDI turbo with 201 horsepower for the US market. This gives it 125.6 horsepower per liter. The Veloster Turbo is estimated to deliver 26 mpg city and a best-in-class 38 mpg highway for manual transmission models.
What’s more, it comes already fully kitted out, with a full leather interior, 18-inch ally wheels, Hyundai-first Matte Gray paint and Elite White Pearl, as well as sports tuned... everything (chassis, suspension, brakes).
