We’ve talked about Jon Olsson’s ride for the 2013 Gumball Rally before, but now more details of the extreme creation have been released. The alpine ski racer’s modified Ultima GTR has eaten Gumball miles in the past, but this year it has truly received an incredible transformation.
Olsson’s 2011 Rebellion R1k now becomes the Rebellion R2k. To get an idea of how much the Ultima GTR base car was tweaked, we’ll tell you that the chassis, doors and windshield are the only parts that haven’t been touched.
We’ll probably have to wait until the Rally in order to find out what motivates the car this year, but we can tell you that it’s got a new powerplant. As for the body, this now uses aerodynamic tweaks stolen form the Le Mand LMP1 class prototypes.
Nevertheless, the previous years have thought Olsson that drivability and interior comfort are also important, so these were two priorities for this year’s car.
