The Belvidere Police Department told Chrysler they wanted to drive something that’s locally made when they escorted food to the Boone County Food Pantry.
And so, the Group cosmetically customized a 2013 Dart, which is built in Belvidere in police car colors. The sedan, which has never been sold as an official law enforcement car, was kitted out with a light bar on top.
The police will provide Chrysler with feedback, which Chrysler will then use to figure of how to make a non-petrol Dodge Dart police car.
“The Belvidere Police Department wanted to drive what’s built in their town by their own citizens,” said Peter Grady, Vice President of Network Development & Fleet, Chrysler Group LLC. “This was a terrific opportunity to support the Belvidere police and continue to foster our longtime partnership with this city and region.”
