The 911 used to be the pick of the litter for Porsche, but now customers are increasingly buying sporty SUVs. So what about the two smaller cars, will they start to make less and less sense? We hope not, because we’ve always been fond of the mid-engined Cayman, and the new Boxster revealed just yesterday is amazingly good-looking.
This video shot by Yotube user DrGumoLunatic reveals the brand new 2013 Porsche Cayman using the same 981 platform as yesterday’s Boxster. The video is dark and reveals little we didn’t know already with the exception of the taillights.
The thing we like the most about the video is the throaty noise the exhaust at startup and under acceleration. The Cayman is expected to offer the 3.4-liter boxer engine in base Carrera trim, but rumor has it that Porsche might eventually replace this with a 2.5-liter turbo developing the same power.
