American manufacturer Chrysler, together with its Italian partner Fiat, are displaying at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show the American version of the 500 model, the first Fiat-badged vehicle which will be launched on the US market.
The model will enter the market soon, wearing a price of $15,500. It will come powered by a single 1.4l MultiAir engine, which develops 101 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 133 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The unit is paired with a choice of two transmissions, a six-speed automatic (available only in the US) and a five speed manual.
The 2012 Fiat 500 will be offered in the US in three trim levels, Pop (power heated mirrors, speed control and reconfigurable Electronic Vehicle Information Center with trip computer), Sport (modified springs, shock tuning, steering calibration and exhaust tuning) and Lounge (premium cloth seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls), available in 14 metallic, non-metallic and premium tri-coat pearl finishes colors.
All versions feature seven standard airbags, Blue & Me Handsfree Communication, BOSE Energy Efficient Series premium audio system, steering wheel controls and, as an option, TomTom navigation system.

As for the warranty offered for the first Fiat to reach the US, the 500 model will be covered by a four-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and four years of unlimited roadside assistance.
