We can now give you the names of the contenders for the 2011 SEMA Hottest Vehicle Awards, with the list including some interesting names, as well as certain absences.
This year, we've got a new category called sport compact, which includes thirteen cars, such as the 2012 Fiat 500, Chevrolet Cruze or Subaru Impreza. The full list of names includes the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta, Honda Civic, Honda CR-Z, Hyundai Veloster, Lexus IS, Mazda 2, Scion iQ, as well as the Scion tC.Overall, the show has four categories: hottest car, hottest truck, hottest 4x4 SUV and hottest sport compact. The hottest cat category includes the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Malibu, Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang, Kia Soul, Lexus CT 200h and Mazda 5.
As for the hottest truck category, this includes the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Transit Connect, Ford F-Series, GMC Canyon, GMC Sierra, Ram, Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Tundra.
We mustn't forget the hottest 4x4 SUV category which brings us the 2012 Dodge Durango, Dodge Journey, Ford Explorer, Hyundai Santa Fe, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, Kia Sportage, Toyota RAV4 and Toyota FJ Cruiser.
We were talking about certain vehicles that didn't make it to the list and it's time to name them: The eco-focused Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf. The winners will be selected by SEMA exhibitors.
