2011 Ducati Multistrada Travel Experience Schedule Revealed

Detailed information about new destinations for 2011 have finally been made available for the Multistrada Travel Experience enthusiasts. Five different destinations are included in this year’s programme, meant to emphasize Ducati Multistrada’s 4-bikes-in-1 character.

Thanks to its combination of 3 different engine maps, the Multistrada 1200 is a sports bike, grand tourer, urban bike and road enduro.

The electronic ride-by-wire system administers three different engine mappings to change the character of the engine, while Ducati Traction Control (DTC) uses eight levels of system interaction to enhance control. Moreover, with a dry weight of just 189kg (417lb) the Multistrada 1200 is said to be lighter than any other road enduro, touring or sport touring bike currently available.

“The arrival of the Multistrada 1200, with its Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro Riding Modes, not only set a new benchmark in motorcycling, but also enabled the innovative “Multistrada Travel Experience” and a new way to experience the excitement of motorcycle travel,”
a company statement reads.

“With the simple click of a button, the four Riding Modes automatically combine Ducati MotoGP derived technologies such as optional engine mappings, electronic suspension settings and traction control to enable a comfortable  “go anywhere” motorcycle with enhanced safety and user-friendliness,”
the statement further adds.
