Dodge is offering us the first official photos and details of the 2011 Charger model, which is scheduled to hit the market by the end of the current year.
The vehicle can be distinguished by its new front fascia, modified roofline, revised rear bumper, which includes two generously-sized, trapezoidal exhaust tips and a diffuser, as well as special retro-inspired taillights that use no less than 164 LEDs.
The engine range has also been refreshed: the vehicle has received a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and a 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Although Dodge has not offered the output details for the engines, earlier media reports indicate that the V6 will offer 309 hp and a maximum torque of 268 lb-ft (363 Nm), while the the V8 will deliver 384 hp and a peak torque of 410 lb-ft (555 Nm). The power is sent to the rear wheels, but customers can choose an optional all-wheel-drive system. This disconnects the front axle and only sends the power to the rear wheels when there is enough traction, a feature that allows a 5 percent fuel efficiency increase.
The new Charger comes with a revised suspension and rides on 19-inch wheels. The car will come to life via the Brampton Assembly Plant in Brampton, Ont. (Canada).
Dodge hasn’t released any photos of the interior, only announcing that this will feature a three-spoke steering wheel, premium materials and enhanced soundproofing. The vehicle has been gifted with features such as a Uconnect Touch infotainment system, a Garmin satnav, adaptive cruise-control and others.
