The 2010 Geneva Motor Show is the perfect time of the year to introduce your latest contraptions to the world and Bentley tries to take full advantage of this. The company will showcase the 2011 Continental Supersports Convertible at the show, the fastest and the most potent drop-top Bentley ever built, as the company said in a statement.
To give you an idea on how powerful this Bentley is, know that the twin-turbocharged W12 engine that develops 630 horsepower helps it sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds, while topping at 202 mph (325 km/h).
"The new Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible blends thrilling performance and dramatic styling with luxury and practicality in the Bentley open-top tradition. Extreme power combines with pioneering FlexFuel technology, now shared with all Continental models, reflecting Bentley's ongoing commitment to more environmental motoring," Bentley Chairman and Chief Executive Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen said in a statement.
Other feature highlights, beside the luxurious enhancements, include a revised ZF 6HP26 transmission with Quickshift system that cuts shift times by around 50 percent, increased 50mm rear track for improved grip and stability, standard-fit carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon fiber front sport seats that save 45 kilos per car, and 20-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels that cut weight by 10 kilos per car.
"The Supersports Convertible and Coupé are the ultimate driver's Bentleys and that is reflected in unique design cues that provide a bold, sporting look, from whatever angle the cars are admired. Even from 50 metres behind on a dark road, you can just tell it's a Supersports," Raul Pires, Head of Exterior Design, explains.
autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
