2011 Acura TSX Sports Wagon to Launch in the US

Japanese carmaker Acura confirmed yesterday the arrival of a new vehicle to join its line-up for the 2011 offensive. The new TSX, based on the European spec Honda Accord Tourer, will be launched in the US by the end of the year, bringing with it all the appeal of the Accord, but without any ground braking differences.

Details on the new wagon are still being kept under a tight lid, but Acura did mention the wagon will take inspiration from the TSX sedan currently sold in the US. Rumor goes the power plant options will not include a clean diesel engine, as its European peer is offering.

The same rumor mill hints the TSX will come equipped with the four cylinder engine fitted on the sedan, with hopes for the February-introduced V6 engine finding its way under the wagon's hood. A good chance for that to happen, we reckon...

Whatever the case will be, the TSX sports wagon will definitely stir more interest (the good kind) than the recently-released-soon-to-prove-a-slump Accord Crosstour.

Below you can find Acura's spartan press release, with the promise of further details coming soon sticking out. Keep an eye out for updates.

"Acura announced today the addition of a TSX sport wagon to its 2011 vehicle lineup. Arriving at Acura dealerships in the Fall of 2010, the TSX sport wagon will be based on the popular TSX sports sedan, which features balanced performance, advanced technology and bold styling. Additional information on the 2011 TSX sport wagon will be announced at a later date.'
