The organizers of the 2010 Work Truck Show, the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) together with CALSTART have announced that the main focus of the event in Saint Louis will be the presentation of practical solutions for the "green" truck needs of future years.
"Implementing a successful green fleet program involves much more than simply writing purchase orders for new hybrid or alternative fuel vehicles," Doyle Sumrall, NTEA senior director of business development said.
The Truck Show will thus consist of an expanded Green Truck Summit, a Green Truck Ride-and-Drive and a dedicated exhibit space. The most import of them, the summit, will provide information and ideas businesses can use in their truck fleets in the near future, as well as providing an insight into the technology of tomorrow.
During the talks, participants will cover all the green trucking picture, including hydraulic hybrid (HHV), hybrid electric (HEV), plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV), natural gas hybrid (NG-hybrid), renewable natural gas, hydrogen fuel cell, propane, biodiesel and electric drive trucks.
"At the Green Truck Summit, fleet managers learn how to match the appropriate clean technologies to their fleets' drive cycles, control fuel consumption, reduce vehicle emissions, obtain state and federal assistance to pay for green technology, and compare the various alternative fuel sources currently available," Sumrall added.
As said, a special CALSTART Clean Technology and Fuels Pavilion will be set up the show. Additionally, CALSTART's annual Clean Heavy Duty Vehicle Conference is part of the aforementioned summit.
