Swedish manufacturer Volvo released today details and, unfortunately, only three photos of the R-Design version for the new C30. "The nearest thing to a dedicated sports," the C30 R-Design did not only get a nip'n'tuck, but also some serious internal upgrades.
Set to debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, which opens its doors this week, the C30 R-Design gives the enthusiasts the choice of seven body colors and an entire array of exterior and interior enhancements.
To increase the performance of the C30, Volvo engineers have modified the car's chassis to provide better steering by using stiffer bushings. According to Volvo, the R-Design provides 10 percent faster response time.
The road handling of the car has been increased by increasing spring stiffness by some 30 percent, adding stiffer, mono-tube dampers and stiffer roll stabilizers. Unfortunately, pricing has not yet been announced for the R-Design.
autoevolution will be attending the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of these vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions
