2009 BMW Alpina B7 Leaked Photo

With only days until the 2009 Geneva Auto Show officially opens its doors, we finally got the first official photo showing the newly-designed 2009 BMW Alpina B7. Although it's not yet clear if the company published the picture on the Internet on purpose or somebody actually managed to snatch it, here we are: the Alpina B7 in all its glory. Unfortunately, details are pretty limited at this point but, taking into account the numerous prototypes and spyshots we've seen before, we still have a few details to talk about.

As you can see in the adjacent photo, the car looks pretty great and, even if we've heard a lot of people saying that black would be a more appropriate color for such a car, there is no information whether Alpine plans to roll out the Alpina B7 in different colors.

BMWblog.com informs today that the upcoming Alpina B7 is going to be powered by a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that will develop a maximum power of 507 hp combined with a top torque of 516 lb-ft. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint is done in about 4.7 seconds, with maximum speed electronically-limited to 173 mph (278 km/h).

Codenamed "manufacturer of exclusive automobiles", Alpina has always been focused on developing special and limited-edition models that provide upgraded interior, exterior and engine performance compared to the base models. In fact, the company itself mentions on the official website that it is keen on delivering engine combining torque and power with frugal fuel consumption and reduced emissions as well as distinctive exterior design, improved aerodynamics and enhanced interiors.

This is all we know for the time being but, with the Geneva show debuting this week, we'll surely have a few more details in the next few days.
