Both the Huracan and R35 are hugely popular with quarter-mile crowed because both are tremendously quick from the outset and relatively straightforward to modify for insane power and torque. Hoonigan assembled two such modified vehicles at Texas Motorplex for a series of drag races, beginning with a 2020 model year GT-R with a stroked engine.
Instead of the regular 3.8 liters, the Godzilla in the featured clip sports 4.1 liters. It further sweetens the deal with 58-millimeter turbos from the folks at Precision. The Jotech Motorsports Stage 7 build is all business at every corner, boasting Weld race wheels mounted with drag radials from Hoosier.

The owner claims 1,600 horsepower on 40 psi of boost, although for the passes against the Huracan EVO, the boost was turned down a bit. Considering that said Huracan makes in the ballpark of 2,000 horsepower, you can already guess which vehicle crossed the finish line first. An ethanol setup, an ETS intercooler, a 10-point stealth cage, a carbon driver's seat, and a ShepTrans Stage 6 transmission with Dodson goodies need to be mentioned as well.

Luna's R35 faces a Huracan EVO driven by a gentleman called Jesus. Modified by T1 Race Development, said Italian supercar features a built motor, a built dual-clutch tranny, an upgraded fuel system, MoTeC engine management, a couple of snails, and 1016 Industries forged-carbon parts.

Also fitted with beadlocks, the Lambo is listed by Hoonigan with a curb weight of approximately 4,200 pounds (1,905 kilograms), which is probably incorrect. Considering that Lamborghini quotes a dry weight of 3,135 pounds (1,422 kilograms), a mistake has certainly been made during editing.

Hoonigan also lists the V10 engine as rocking 5.3 liters instead of the standard 5.2 liters, but Google shows no results for 5.3L stroker kits. In any case, Jesus didn't manage to launch as hard as Luna in the first of two dig races. But after shifting the quick-shifting tranny into second, Jesus kept increasing the gap to Luna's R35 until he finished quite a few car lengths ahead of the six-pot coupe.

It goes without saying that Luna got a few small advantages for the second run, which – not surprising in the least – kicked off with a harder launch from the R35. The Huracan immediately caught up with the highly modified R35, eventually finishing in front of the 1,600-horsepower coupe.

Nissan still hasn't confirmed if the R36 is going electric or if an R36 will ever happen, whereas Lamborghini plans to debut a very different supercar from the Huracan later this year. Based on the Revuelto's carbon-fiber chassis, the newcomer is codenamed LB634 and it's a plug-in hybrid V8.

The 4.0-liter engine develops 800 cavalli vapore (789 mechanical horsepower) between 9,000 and 9,750 revolutions per minute, spins to 10,000 revolutions per minute, and makes 730 Nm (538 pound-feet) from 4,000 through 7,000 revolutions per minute with the help of turbocharging. The plug-in hybrid system incorporates three electric motors for a total output exceeding 900 cv (888 hp). As per head of sales and marketing Federico Foschini, the new Temerario – or whatever it will be called – will debut in August.
