While the 1969 model year in the Firebird lineup revolved around the all-new Trans Am, the base model remained an intriguing purchase. Sales went down to 87,709 units, but the hardtop continued to dominate sales with over 75,000 orders.
Customers who wanted a Firebird had to pay at least $2,831 for a hardtop, while the convertible was significantly more expensive, at $3,045.

The 1969 Firebird in these pictures is a convertible that has been properly cared for throughout its life, with the matching-numbers 350 still under the hood. The engine starts, runs, and drives "like it did in 1969," eBay seller chgohr explains.

The Firebird was available in Base, Sprint, 350, 350 HO, and 400 configurations. The 350 was one of the most popular choices, increasing the final price by $111. It developed 265 horsepower, significantly lower than the HO sibling, which was rated at $325.

This convertible flexes a stunning color combination. It's finished in Burgundy and sports a white interior with a white power top. Everything works, but you must know that the interior has recently been replaced. The convertible top is also new, and so are the tires, the dual exhaust system, and the fuel tank.

As you can easily tell with a quick photo inspection, the Firebird needs nothing to hit the road. Buyers don't have to worry about rust damage, as the car was born and raised in North Carolina. The body is straight, without any signs of hits, and the paint looks great from every angle.

The mileage is one of the most intriguing yet mysterious bits on this Firebird. The odometer indicates 19,783 miles, but the owner says this "was stated by the original owner's grandson." Unfortunately, they have no documentation to confirm the low miles, so have everything inspected if you believe this low-mile Firebird could be a real-deal Pontiac that could fit in your garage.

The owner explains that this Firebird was part of their collection. They bought the car four years ago, but now they're trying to find a new home, hoping someone on eBay is willing to pay a hefty price to park it in their garage.

The seller believes $42,500 is a fair price, but they also enabled the Make Offer button. They will look into your offer, so if you convince your significant other that you need a new Firebird, contact the seller to discuss all the details. The car is parked in Hollywood, Florida, and it should be able to drive anywhere on its wheels. However, if the low miles are original to the car and this is the actual mileage, you might want to take it on a trailer, as nobody wants to add extra miles for no reason.
