Classic Motorcycle Consignments is THE place to go for all those in search of old-school glory, and this '46 Harley-Davidson WR Racer is just one of the bikes we will show you form now on.
As BikeEXIF informs us, an H-D WR is an extremely rare find, and stumbling by one in a full race attire is an even less often occasion. After being retired form the road racing, the WR has been stored in a barn for around 20 years, until restored and rebuilt by Indian rider and Triumph retailer Bill Brownie Brownwell in San Bernardino, California.
He managed to mend the frame, but he had to source another WR engine and 3-speed gearbox. And since when luck strikes, it strikes well, Brownie found these two in perfect NOS condition, crated as they were when manufactured back in early '50s.
With the engine and tranny in great working condition, Brownwell finished restoring the body parts and bring the WR to the racing track once more, this time in Australia, in a series dedicated to retro motorcycles.
