Supercar drivers in Dubai are used to seeing Nissan Patrols as obstacles they have to drive around. With these offroaders being massively popular in the United Arab Emirates, you’ll find plenty of them on the street.
And while their drivers are most often in a hurry, the sheer difference between such a Nissan and a supercar sees those riding around in the latter category of machines slaloming past the Patrols.
Nevertheless, the area holds what could be described as a Patrol special force. Local tuners are no strangers to extreme incarnations of the offroader, some of which can go past 2,000 hp in their quest to conquer the dunes and even put on a drifting show.
As you can imagine, those who drive such extreme Patrols enjoy trolling supercar drivers from time to time, and we’re here to show you an SUV that could easily deal with such a task.
We are referring to the previous-generation Nissan Patrol in the video below, which allows its driver to control no less than 1,400 hp.
While there are no specs accompanying the car, the clip does include a brief stint under the hood, albeit at night. It looks like we are dealing with the norm when it comes to Patrols that deliver north of 1,000 hp, namely Nissan’s TB48DE inline-six.
Known for its tuning potential, this straight six powers most go-fast Patrols in the area. Many, if not all, of the projects see the unit being gifted with a monstrous turbocharger and the car we have here is no exception.
The footage takes us to an area that could easily be called Dubai’s crown jewel, namely Palm Jumeirah. This man-made archipelago sees the same annual number of supercars as Monaco, for instance, and we’re willing to bet this Patrol has dealt with quite a few.
