Which is quicker in a straight line between a Hennessey-tuned Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ? In terms of top speed, the answer is pretty obvious.
The Super Veloce Jota isn't the most powerful or the fastest Aventador of the lot because the Raging Bull of Sant'Agata Bolognese developed it to handle better than all other versions of the V12-powered supercar. To whom it may concern, the SVJ clocked 6:44.97 at the Nurburgring in July 2018, putting it right between the 991.2-gen Porsche 911 GT3 RS (6:44.84) and 911 GT2 RS (6:47.25).

Lamborghini advertised the limited-run bull with a top speed of more than 350 kilometers per hour, meaning 217-plus miles per hour. As for the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, the Detroit-based automaker claims over 200 miles per hour (322 kilometers per hour) at full chatter.

As if the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 of the CT5-V Blackwing wasn't badass enough in bone-stock form, the mad lads at Hennessey Performance Engineering can take said engine to a ridiculous 1,000 horsepower and 966 pound-feet (1,310 Nm) of tire-shredding twist. By comparison, the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 of the SVJ belts out 770 ps (759 hp) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft).

These ridiculously loud cars duked it out at Hennessey's private quarter-mile drag strop in Texas, where the Lambo proved much superior from a dig. Remember that SVJ features an automated manual and all-wheel drive with – of course – a rear bias rather than a torque-converter automatic and rear-wheel drive.

Also remember that SVJ features a carbon-fiber monocoque, which brings the weight down considerably. Lamborghini quoted a dry weight of 1,525 kilograms (3,362 pounds) in the lightest specification, whereas the curb weight of the CT5-V Blackwing is 4,123 pounds with the manual or 4,142 (1,879) with the automatic.

From a rolling start, however, the 1,000-horsepower small block's mountain of torque makes easy work of the Aventador SVJ. The Hennessey-tuned sedan develops in the ballpark of 700 pound-feet of torque at the rear wheels at 3,000 revolutions per minute, and this rear-wheel torque stays in the 700s all the way through 6,000 revolutions per minute. Lamborghini, on the other hand, claims the aforementioned crankshaft peak torque figure at 6,750 revolutions per minute.

Being a good ol' small block with a thumpin' great blower on top, the LT4 in the Caddy also develops peak horsepower quite a bit earlier than the Lambo. As incredible as that Aventador SVJ may be, it simply cannot match the raw power and torque of the Hennessey-modified sedan.

Unfortunately, pricing information for the H1000 package isn't public knowledge. But given that Hennessey used to charge a mega $65,000 for the HPE1000 package of the CTS-V, this fellow costs well over a hundred and fifty grand. As for the Aventador SVJ in coupe flavor, it used to retail at $517,770 for the 2019 model year.
