history
Tacita is an Italian electric motorcycle company founded by Pierpaolo Rigo and Dinamaria Ollino in June 2009. The former rally raid rider and his partner Dinamaria named the company after Tacita, the Roman goddess of silence.
In 2019, the company moved from its workshop in Pisa to a new factory in Poirino, launching the American branch with offices in Miami, Florida. The company didn't only produce electric motorcycles but also offered the T-Station, a trailer fitted with solar panels that acted as a transportation device and a charging point.
The company offered two leading platforms for different styles of travel and racing, both offering their own sub-models. The T-cruise comprised the Urban and Turismo models, while the T-Race comprised the Motard, Enduro, Rally, and Cross models.
The bike's first competitive debut occurred in 2012 at the Merzouga Rally in Morocco. It marked the first appearance of an electric motorcycle at a rally raid in the African sandy dunes.
The Italian-based company announced in 2020 that the T-Race Rally will be the first fully electric motorcycle to compete in the Dakar Rally. Its inaugural showing was limited to 20 km in a non-ranking special stage on the final day of the Qiddiya race.
Unfortunately, the company canceled its presence in the 2021 and 2022 editions, hoping to participate in the 2023 event.
