Segment: Naked / Road
Production years: 2007, 2008
In 2007, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Moto Guzzi Griso 1100, a naked cruising motorcycle that featured the same package as previous models without any significant modifications whatsoever.
The Moto Guzzi Griso was a series of naked road motorcycles manufactured by Moto Guzzi from 2005 to 2016 in three different engine sizes. The 1100 was presented in August 2005, the 850 in April 2006, and the 1200 8V in November 2006 and sold since September 2007.
In addition, the first prototype of the Griso machine was presented in 2002 at the Intermot Show in Munich under the Tecnocustom designation. Its design was realized by Rodolfo Frascoli from Marabese Design.
The bike packed the exact standard features as previous models, including lightweight three-spoke aluminum wheels, a two-into-one exhaust system with a single silencer mounted on the left side, a two-piece dual seat, and a round headlight with a chromed housing up front.
The bike's backbone was a detachable tubular duplex cradle frame with a 43 mm inverted fully adjustable telescopic fork on the front, offering 120 mm of travel, and an adjustable shock absorber on the rear that provided 110 mm of travel.
Its braking system comprised two 320 mm brake discs with four-piston calipers on the front and a 282 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear.
The 2007 Moto Guzzi Griso 1100 had its heartbeat set by a 1,064c four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine with an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system feeding the pistons, producing no more than 86 hp at 7,800 rpm and 85 Nm (63 lb-ft) torque at 6,000 rpm.
