HYOSUNG RX125 (2001-2002) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2001, the South Korean motorcycle maker released the Hyosung RX125, which fitted novice riders who wanted to introduce themselves to off-road motorcycling. The 2001 model year was the fourth consecutive production year.

It was the same shape and form as the previous one, providing the same visual, performance, and technical specifications without any modifications.

The bike was produced from 1998 until 2009 and sold in many countries, such as Asia, North America, Europe, and Oceania. In Brazil, it was assembled from CKD kits by Kasinski Motos and renamed a Kasinski product.

It was made around a steel frame that housed the suspension system. The system comprised an inverted telescopic fork on the front with 250 mm wheel travel and a dual-sided swingarm tied to a single shock absorber on the rear with 200 mm of travel.

For braking purposes, the motorcycle packed a 240 mm brake disc on the 21-inch front wheel, clamped by a hydraulic caliper, and a 130 mm drum braking unit on the rear, providing optimum stopping performance.

The 2001 Hyosung RX125 was powered by a 124cc four-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder engine managed by a carburetor. It boasted 12 hp at 10,300 rpm and 10 Nm (7 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm. The power was sent to the rear wheel via a five-speed gearbox and a chain drive.
