HYOSUNG RX125 (2000-2001) Specs, Performance & Photos

The RX125 was a lightweight dual-purpose motorcycle made by the South Korean motorcycle manufacturer Hyosung. In some markets, it was also known as the XRX125.

The motorcycle was manufactured from 1998 until 2009 and sold in many countries, such as Asia, North America, Europe, and Oceania. In Brazil, it was assembled from CKD kits by Kasinski Motos and renamed a Kasinski product.

In 2000, the South Korean motorcycle maker released the Hyosung RX125, a small displacement machine perfect for novice riders who wanted to introduce themselves to off-road motorcycling.

The 2000 model year was in its third consecutive production year and packed standard fittings, like a high-mounted front mudguard, a rectangular headlight integrated into a small cowl, a one-piece dual seat, an engine protective cover, and wire-spoke wheels with mixed tires.

In the performance department, the 2000 Hyosung RX125 had installed a 124cc four-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder engine fed by a carburetor. The engine produced 12 hp at 10,300 rpm and 10 Nm (7 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm. It was assisted by a five-speed transmission that sent the power to the rear via a final chain drive.

For suspension, the motorcycle packed an inverted telescopic fork on the front with 250 mm wheel travel and a dual-sided swingarm tied to a single shock absorber on the rear with 200 mm of travel.

For braking power, the bike's wheels were fitted with a 240 mm brake disc on the 21-inch front wheel, clamped by a hydraulic caliper, and a 130 mm drum braking unit on the rear, providing optimum stopping performance.
