HYOSUNG GT650S Sports Tourer (2010-2011) Specs, Performance & Photos

Hyosung was a South Korean motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1978. It was a division of the Hyosung Group of Industries. In 1979, Hyosung started manufacturing Japanese Suzuki motorcycle designs.

It was part of the Hyosung Comet series, which comprised motorcycles powered by a V-twin engine in three displacements: 125, 250, and 650cc. Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc. produced the bikes in South Korea.

In 2010, the South Korean motorcycle maker released the Hyosung GT650S Sports Tourer, a motorcycle derived from the GT650S model. It packed the same features as the previous one without any changes.

The motorcycle also packed additional features such as throw-over panniers, an aero screen, and a luggage rack, enhancing its touring capabilities. In other departments, it was similar to the base model.

Performance-wise, the 2010 Hyosung GT650S Sports Tourer had installed a 647cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine mounted under the fuel tank, boasting 79 hp with peak force at 9,000 rpm and 66 Nm (49 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm. It reached a top speed of 204 kph (127 mph).

The bike's riding characteristics were set by a 41 mm inverted fork on the front end with 120 mm of travel and a single shock on the rear with 100 mm wheel travel, providing excellent suspension performance.

The braking power was achieved by two 300 mm rotors with four-piston calipers on the front and a 230 mm rotor with a dual-piston caliper on the rear, which offer excellent stopping power.
