In 2007, the Korean brand released the Hyosung GT650R, a fully-faired recreational machine that debuted in 2004. It was arguably the most powerful motorcycle the brand built at the time.

The 2007 model year was in its fourth consecutive production year, wearing the same visual, performance, and technical characteristics as previous ones without any changes whatsoever.

Hyosung was a South Korean motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1978. It was a division of the Hyosung Group of Industries. In 1979, Hyosung started manufacturing Japanese Suzuki motorcycle designs.

The bike was part of the Comet series, which comprised three motorcycles with three different displacements. The GT650 was the largest of the series and came in naked, half-faired, and fully-faired versions.

Visually, the motorcycle was characterized by standard features, such as a full fairing, a single headlight up front, a medium-sized windscreen, a two-piece dual seat with a passenger grab rail, a two-into-one exhaust system, and six-spoke aluminum wheels.

Regarding power, the 2007 Hyosung GT650R got its muscles from a 647cc four-stroke V-twin, liquid-cooled engine mounted underneath its fuel tank. It delivered 79 hp at 9,000 rpm and 66 Nm (49 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.

The engine's power was controlled by a six-speed manual transmission that sent it to the rear end via a final chain drive, reaching a top speed of 204 kph (127 mph).
