HYOSUNG GT650 Comet (2005-2006) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2005, the South Korean motorcycle maker released the Hyosung GT650 Comet, a naked motorcycle in its second production year. The bike was the same shape and form as the previous one without any modifications.

Hyosung was a South Korean motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1978. It was a division of the Hyosung Group of Industries. In 1979, Hyosung started manufacturing Japanese Suzuki motorcycle designs.

The Hyosung Comet was a series of motorcycles powered by a V-twin engine in three displacements: 125, 250, and 650cc. They were produced in South Korea by Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc.

In the performance department, the 2005 Hyosung GT650 Comet packed a 647cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine that delivered 79 hp at 9,000 rpm and 58 Nm (43 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.

For suspension, the motorcycle was fitted with a 41 mm inverted telescopic fork on the front with 120 mm of travel and a single shock on the rear with 100 mm of travel, providing excellent suspension performance.

In the braking department, the motorcycle's wheels were fitted with two 300 mm discs with four-piston calipers on the front and a 230 mm rotor with a dual-piston caliper on the rear.

As for the visual department, the motorcycle packed features such as a round headlight up front, analog instruments, a two-piece dual seat, a two-into-one exhaust system with a silencer mounted on the right-hand side, and six-spoke aluminum alloy wheels.
