HYOSUNG GT650 Comet (2004-2005) Specs, Performance & Photos

Hyosung was a South Korean motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1978. It was a division of the Hyosung Group of Industries. In 1979, Hyosung started manufacturing Japanese Suzuki motorcycle designs.

The Hyosung Comet was a series of motorcycles powered by a V-twin engine in three displacements: 125, 250, and 650cc. They were produced in South Korea by Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc.

In 2004, the South Korean motorcycle manufacturer launched the Hyosung GT650 Comet, a naked motorcycle also available with a half-fairing (GT650S) and a full-fairing (GT650R).

The bike's visual department was characterized by features such as a round headlight up front, analog instruments, a two-piece dual seat, a two-into-one exhaust system with a silencer mounted on the right-hand side, and six-spoke aluminum alloy wheels.

The motorcycle was made around a double-pipe steel frame, which provided suspension. The front suspension was provided by a 41 mm inverted telescopic fork with 120 mm of travel and a single shock with 100 mm of travel on the rear.

The braking power was achieved by two 300 mm brake discs with four-piston calipers on the front and a 230 mm rotor with a dual-piston caliper on the rear.

Regarding performance, the 2004 Hyosung GT650 Comet had installed a 647cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine that delivered 79 hp at 9,000 rpm and 58 Nm (43 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.
