HYOSUNG GT250 Comet (2005-2006) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2005, the South Korean motorcycle manufacturer released the Hyosung GT250 Comet, a naked motorcycle in the GT series. It had the same characteristics as the previous model without any changes.

Hyosung was a South Korean motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1978. It was a division of the Hyosung Group of Industries. In 1979, Hyosung started manufacturing Japanese Suzuki motorcycle designs.

The Comet was a series that comprised three motorcycles powered by a V-twin engine with different displacements: 125, 250, and 650cc. The range comprised several models, such as the GT125, GT125R, GT250R, GT250, GT650R, GT650S, and GT650.

In addition to the naked model, the manufacturer offered the GT250R (sports) model, which, officially, didn't wear the Comet suffix. However, its fairings had the Comet stickers and the same specs as the naked model, making aesthetics the main difference between the two.

Standard fittings complemented the visual department, such as a round headlight up front, two analog instruments, a two-piece dual seat, a two-into-one exhaust system, and six-spoke aluminum wheels.

The bike was made around a steel frame with a 41 mm inverted telescopic fork handling the front suspension and an adjustable monoshock taking care of the rear end.

As for the power figures, the 2005 Hyosung GT250 Comet delivered 30 hp at 10,500 rpm and 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) torque at 9,500 rpm from a 249cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine.
