HYOSUNG GT125 Comet (2002-2003) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2002, the South Korean motorcycle maker released the Hyosung GT125, an entry-level motorcycle perfect for beginner riders and more experienced riders looking for a light and agile bike.

The 2002 model year was the second production year, and it featured the same performance, technical, and visual specifications without any modifications.

Hyosung was a South Korean motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1978. It was a division of the Hyosung Group of Industries. In 1979, Hyosung started manufacturing Japanese Suzuki motorcycle designs.

The Comet was a series that comprised three motorcycles powered by a V-twin engine with different displacements: 125, 250, and 650cc. The range comprised several models, such as the GT125, GT125R, GT250R, GT250, GT650R, GT650S, and GT650.

The 2002 Hyosung GT125's power characteristics were offered by a 124cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine mounted at its core. This engine delivered 14 hp with a peak force at 10,300 rpm and 9 Nm (7 lb-ft) torque at 10,000 rpm.

For suspension, the motorcycle packed an inverted telescopic fork on the front and an adjustable shock on the rear, providing optimum handling capabilities.

The motorcycle had standard features in the aesthetic department, such as a round headlight up front, two instrument gauges, a two-piece dual seat, a two-into-one exhaust system with a muffler on the right-hand side, and six-spoke aluminum wheels.
