HUSQVARNA TE 449 2012-2013

In 2012, the Swedish motorcycle maker released the Husqvarna TE 449, one of its class's most powerful off-road machines. The 2012 model was the same shape and form as the previous one without any changes. At the time, the bike was sold at an MSRP of $8,700.

Husqvarna was a Swedish manufacturer of outdoor power products, such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, brush cutters, cultivators, garden tractors, and, why not, motorcycles. It was founded in 1689 as a firearm manufacturer and was one of the oldest continuously running companies in the world.

In the performance department, the 2012 Husqvarna TE 449's heartbeat was set by a 449cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled four-stroke engine with a fuel injection system in charge. The engine was paired with a six-speed unit that sent the power to the rear via a final chain drive.

It was made around a chrome-molybdenum frame, which housed the suspension system. The system comprised a 48 mm cartridge-type Kayaba fork on the front and an adjustable Kayaba shock absorber on the rear.

Braking-wise, the bike packed a 260 mm brake disc on the front wheel and a 220 mm rotor on the rear wheel. Both discs were assisted by hydraulic calipers.

As for the visual department, the 2012 model was similar to the previous one, packing standard fittings, like a high-mounted front mudguard, a single headlight, a single seat, a single exhaust system with a silencer mounted high on the right-hand side, an engine plate, and wire-spoke wheels with off-road tires.
