HUSQVARNA SMS 4 (2012-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2012, the Swedish motorcycle manufacturer introduced the Husqvarna SMS4, the new four-stroke model at the time, aimed at the youngest among the brand's fans. The bike had a particularly aggressive and appealing appearance that reflected the style of the bikes used in races by Husqvarna's official team.

Visually, the bike packed standard features, such as a high-mounted front fender, a small front cowl with a single headlight unit, a single seat, a high-mounted exhaust system with a muffler mounted on the right-hand side, a dual-sided swingarm, and wire-spoke wheels with road tires.

The bike had a white color scheme, and all the graphics were incorporated into the plastics using the In Mould Decoration system. In addition, the bike's weight was only 117 kg (258 lbs), making it very manageable and easy to handle in every situation.

As for power, the 2011 Husqvarna SMS4 had installed a 124cc four-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 14 hp and 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) torque.

The bike was built around a steel frame and packed a 40 mm Paioli inverted telescopic fork on the front end and an adjustable Sachs shock on the rear, offering optimum suspension performance and handling capabilities.

For braking power, the motorcycle's wheels were fitted with a 260 mm brake disc on the front and a 220 mm brake rotor on the rear. Both discs were clamped by hydraulic calipers.
