HUSQVARNA SMR 511 (2012-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2011, the Swedish motorcycle maker introduced the Husqvarna SMR 511, a motorcycle designed as a bridge between the powerful SMR 630 and the agile SMR 449. It had a similar look to its siblings but several technical differences.

The 2012 SMR 511, like the previous model, had the same specifications and delivered the same technical, visual, and performance characteristics without any changes.

Husqvarna was a Swedish manufacturer of outdoor products, such as chainsaws, robotic lawnmowers, trimmers, brush cutters, cultivators, garden tractors, and, why not, motorcycles.

In the visual department, the motorcycle was fitted with features such as a high front fender, fork slider covers, a single headlight integrated into a small cowl, a single seat, a single exhaust system with a muffler mounted high on the right-hand side, a bottom engine cover, and wire-spoke wheels with road tires.

The bike was made around a single-cradle steel tube frame with a light alloy rear frame. For suspension, the motorcycle packed a 50 mm inverted Marzocchi telescopic fork on the front with 250 mm wheel travel, an adjustable shock absorber on the rear with 290 mm of travel, and a dual-sided swingarm.

A 320 mm brake disc on the front and a 220 mm brake disc on the rear achieved braking power. Both discs were clamped by hydraulic calipers and offered optimum stopping performance.

The 2012 Husqvarna SMR 511 was set in motion by a 477cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine fed by a fuel injection system. The engine was assisted by a six-speed transmission that sent the power to the rear via a final chain drive.
