HUSQVARNA SM 450 R (2007-2008) Specs, Performance & Photos

Husqvarna Group was a Swedish manufacturer of outdoor power products, including chainsaws, brush cutters, robotic lawnmowers, trimmers, cultivators, garden tractors, and motorcycles. The company was founded in 1689 as a firearm manufacturer and was one of the oldest continuously running companies in the world.

In 2007, the Swedish motorcycle maker released the Husqvarna SM 540 R, a dual-sports machine part of the SM series that handled well on both paved and unpaved roads. It was in its fourth consecutive production year and remained unchanged from previous ones. In addition, the bike was for sale at an MSRP of $7,299.

In the performance department, the 2007 Husqvarna SM 450R packed a 449cc four-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine at its core. This engine was managed by a 41 mm Keihin carburetor and assisted by a six-speed manual transmission with a final chain drive.

For suspension, the engineers fitted it with a 45 mm inverted Marzocchi telescopic fork on the front with 250 mm of travel and a Sachs progressive shock on the rear with 290 mm of travel.

The braking performance was achieved by a 320 mm rotor mounted on the front wheel and a 220 mm disc mounted on the rear wheel. Both rotors were handled by hydraulic calipers, offering optimum braking performance.

As for the visual department, the 2007 model was identical to previous ones, packing features like wire-spoke wheels with road tires, a high-mounted front fender, a single seat, a single exhaust system with a silencer mounted high on the right-hand side, and fork slider covers.
