HUSQVARNA 701 SUPERMOTO (2017-Present) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2017, the Swedish motorcycle manufacturer released the Husqvarna 701 Supermoto alongside the 701 Enduro. Both models were fitted with the most powerful single-cylinder engine ever developed by the brand, which produced more power and torque than the previous models and also met EURO5 emissions standards.

Husqvarna was a Swedish manufacturer of outdoor power products, such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, brush cutters, cultivators, garden tractors, and, why not, motorcycles. It was founded in 1689 as a firearm manufacturer and was one of the oldest continuously running companies in the world.

Visually, the bike was pretty much the same, with standard fittings like a high-mounted front mudguard, a single headlight, a single seat, a side stand, a dual-sided swingarm, a single exhaust system with a silencer mounted on the left-hand side, and wire-spoke wheels with road tires.

In the performance department, the 2017 Husqvarna 701 Supermoto got its muscles from a new 692cc single-cylinder four-stroke liquid-cooled engine that delivered 74 hp with a peak at 8,000 rpm and 71 Nm (52 lb-ft) torque at 6,750 rpm.

The suspension system remained unchanged, and a chromium-molybdenum frame was still used as support. It consisted of a 48 mm WP-USD fork on the front with 215 mm of travel and a WP monoshock on the rear with 250 mm of travel.

The braking system comprised a 320 mm brake disc mounted on the front wheel, clamped by a four-piston Brembo caliper, and a 240 mm brake disc on the rear tied to a single-piston Brembo caliper.
