HONDA XR650L (2005-2006) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Honda XR series was a line of enduro motorcycles made by Honda. The bikes were designed in Japan but assembled worldwide. Several XR models came in two versions, "L" and "R."

In 2005, the renowned Japanese motorcycle manufacturer released the Honda XR650L, a dual-sports machine that debuted in 1993. It combined the NX650 Dominator's engine with the XR600R's light, off-road capable chassis.

Over its production run, the bike remained unchanged, with features such as a high-mounted front fender, a small headlight integrated into a small cowl, an engine plate, a single seat with a toolbox, a high-mounted exhaust muffler, and wire-spoke wheels shod with off-road tires.

For suspension, the motorcycle packed a 43 mm adjustable cartridge-type fork with 295 mm of travel on the front and a Pro-Link swingarm with an adjustable shock on the rear with 280 mm of travel.

The braking power was achieved by a single 240 mm brake disc with a dual-piston caliper on the front and a 240 mm brake rotor on the rear wheel tied to a single-piston caliper, offering optimum stopping performance.

As for the power figures, the 2005 Honda XR650L was set in motion by a 644cc four-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 41 hp with a peak force at 6,000 rpm and 52 Nm (38 lb-ft) torque at 4,000 rpm.
