HONDA XR650L (2002-2003) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2002, the renowned Japanese maker released the Honda XR650L, a dual-sports machine that debuted in 1993. It combined the NX650 Dominator's engine with the XR600R's light, off-road capable chassis.

From 1983 until the present, the Honda XR650L has remained largely unchanged in production, delivering the same technical, visual, and performance specifications without any modifications.

The Honda XR series was a range of enduro motorcycles produced by Honda. The bikes were designed in Japan but assembled all over the globe. Several XR models came in two versions, "L" and "R".

The bike's visual department was characterized by standard features, such as wire-spoke wheels shod with off-road tires, an engine plate, a high-mounted exhaust system with a silencer mounted on the right-hand side, a single seat with a toolbox, a high-mounted front fender, and a small square headlight integrated into a small front cowl.

For suspension, the motorcycle packed a 43 mm adjustable cartridge-type fork with 295 mm of travel on the front and a Pro-Link swingarm with an adjustable shock absorber on the rear with 280 mm of travel.

The 2002 Honda XR650R was powered by a 644cc four-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 41 hp with a peak at 6,000 rpm and 52 Nm (38 lb-ft) torque at 4,000 rpm.
