HONDA XR650L (2000-2001) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Honda XR series was a range of enduro motorcycles produced by Honda. The bikes were designed in Japan but assembled all over the globe. Several XR models came in two versions, "L" and "R".

One of these was the Honda XR650L, a dual-sport motorcycle in the XR series. It was launched in 1992 as a 1993 model, combining the RFVC engine of the NX650 Dominator with the off-road chassis of the XR600R. From 1993 until 2024, the bike was produced without any modifications.

In 2000, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer released the Honda XR650L, a dual-sports machine that packed the same technical, visual, and performance specifications as previous ones without any modifications.

The bike's aesthetic department was characterized by standard fittings, like wire-spoke wheels shod with off-road tires, an engine plate, a high-mounted exhaust system with a silencer mounted on the right-hand side, a single seat with a toolbox, a high-mounted front fender, and a small square headlight integrated into a small front cowl.

In the performance department, the 2000 Honda XR650L had installed a 644cc four-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder engine that delivered an output power of 41 hp at 6,000 rpm and 52 Nm (38 lb-ft) torque at 4,000 rpm.

The braking power was achieved by a single 240 mm disc mounted on the front clamped by a dual-piston caliper and a 240 mm brake disc mounted on the rear wheel tied to a single-piston caliper.
